Educational Childminding: quality care while you do life

Drop off your child for teacher-led, play-based care while you shop, exercise, get your hair done, relax, or enjoy a night out. Our qualified educators provide a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 0–8.

What is Educational Childminding?

Educational childminding is flexible, teacher-led care designed to give parents time back without compromising on quality. Unlike a traditional centre, there are no fixed days and no lock-in: you book only the hours you actually need, from a single hour to a full day. Led by qualified early childhood educators and primary school teachers, every session offers intentional, play-based learning in a safe and nurturing space, with a maximum of 10 children on-site and around a 1:5 ratio.

Play-Based Learning

Intentional play experiences set up fresh each day: construction, imaginative play, puzzles and loose parts.

Creative Atelier

Painting, collage and clay in our art space. It's about the making; we handle the mess.

Stories, Music & Movement

Story time, songs and movement games that build language, rhythm and confidence.

Nature & Sensory Play

Messy play, water play, flowers and natural materials to explore with all the senses.

Qualified Educators

Every session is led by qualified early childhood educators and primary school teachers.

Babies & Toddlers Welcome

From babies to 8-year-olds, with change facilities, a feeding space and gentle care for the littlest ones.

What parents usually ask

No. We are not a CCS-approved service, so sessions are not subsidised. Because you only book the hours you actually need, many families find the total spend works out lower than paying for set days they do not use.
0 to 2 years is 1:4, 2 to 3 years is 1:5, and 3 years and over is 1:11, with a maximum of 10 children on-site at any time. If your child needs extra support, tell us before your session and we will plan for it.
No. There are no locked-in days and no minimum weeks. Book an hour, a morning, a full day, or a one-off, whenever it suits your family.
Both directors hold tertiary teaching degrees: Shannon a Bachelor of Education (Primary), and Leonie a Bachelor of Education (Primary) plus a Master of Education (Early Childhood Teaching). Other staff hold qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Babies through to eight-year-olds. Younger children are very welcome, and we have additional staff available for our youngest visitors.
Please stay within the South.Point shopping centre for the length of your booking, so we can reach you quickly if your child needs you.
A labelled water bottle and a small snack box with food that is ready to eat. Children who are not toilet trained need nappies and wipes. We are an allergy-aware space and children eat from their own snack box only.
Our educators are experienced at reassurance and distraction, and most children settle within about 5 minutes. If your child is still unsettled after 10 minutes, we will call you.
